Let me start off by wishing everyone a Happy 2013 New Year and a warm welcome to my blog. This post marks the beginning of an effort to source and journal the findings to obtaining beauty and health the safe and natural way.

I realised that not many people are aware of the toxicity in some of today's top-brand counter products. Myself included, having only diligently researching the ingredients in the past few months after years of relying on just the biased knowledge of the counter salesgirls. That brought me to discovering the whole realm of the natural and the organic. Not just the products I use, but also what I consume. Inner and outer beauty goes hand in hand.

So the first thing I did was ditching the skincare and makeup products I owned with labels that spell out ingredient names that I couldn't even pronounce. I restocked with natural and organic products that are highly recommended by one of the nutritionists whom I admire. That's the easiest overhauling of my outer beauty routine.

For my inner beauty routine, the leafy-green diet (organic best if raw) is the way to go for the most part, which I must admit that I really struggle with. I am a Malaysian at heart. I love food. However, I am more conscious of what I consume now than before.

So why am I sharing this with you? As per my mission statement list, I want to share this new found knowledge that many are unaware of, starting with my peers or anyone who chances upon this blog. I am already reaping the benefits of my new routine so you can guess my excitement :) In the upcoming posts, I will put together my findings, citing from reliable medical sources such as PubMed and from my own experiences. Let's instill awareness of what we consume and put onto our skin because our health and beauty embody who we are.

Let's get the awareness rolling!
